At Headway City College Ja-Ela, a trusted British Council Partner Centre for over 15 years, our Cambridge PET (B1) program – Power Up 6 is designed for students who have completed KET or reached a suitable English level.
This 12-month course prepares students for the Cambridge Preliminary English Test (PET), focusing on both spoken English for teens and strong academic English. Parents value the program because it develops confidence in using English for school subjects, everyday communication, and international exams. Families join us not only from Ja-Ela but also from Kandana, Wattala, Seeduwa, and Negombo.
What Students Will Learn
- Speaking & Listening – discussing familiar topics, giving opinions, having longer conversations
- Vocabulary Expansion – school, travel, media, technology, daily routines, hobbies
- Grammar Focus – wider use of present, past, and future tenses, modal verbs, conditionals, complex sentences
- Reading & Writing – reading short articles and stories, writing emails, notes, and structured paragraphs
